As part of an effort by the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (PANYNJ) to address noise complaints and improve quality of life around the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area, Paul Carpenter Associates, Inc. (PCA) was contracted to repair, install, upgrade, and maintain remote noise monitoring terminals strategically located in the vicinity of the Tri-State's three major airports: John F. Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia International Airport, and Newark Liberty International Airport.
A preliminary site survey was performed to ensure safe and appropriate noise monitoring locations. PCA inspected all existing legacy noise monitoring terminals and, when necessary, performed troubleshooting and repair. PCA also procured and performed inventory and pre-deployment testing and programming of new equipment. Per contract requirements, PCA designed and furnished portable aluminum frames on which to mount the noise monitoring equipment and then assembled complete remote noise monitoring terminals as parts arrived.
Troubleshooting was performed to address issues related, but not limited to: electrical components, power loss, wireless communication loss, firmware instability, and general equipment failure.
