Paul Carpenter Associates, Inc. (PCA) delivers expansive noise mitigation design services. PCA staff possess extensive experience performing, reviewing and designing mitigation measures for various infrastructure and construction projects across the country. In just the past 10 years, PCA has performed final design of noise walls for infrastructure projects totaling over $40.5M in construction costs for multiple state Departments of Transportation. As part of these designs, PCA has worked closely with civil and structural engineers to avoid conflict with utilities and other right-of-way concerns. Further, PCA designs and recommends absorptive treatments for noise walls in order to combat degradation of noise wall effectiveness in areas of single and parallel reflective noise wall configurations.
Serving as the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's (PANYNJ) on-call noise and vibration consultant since 1999, PCA reviews and critiques countless construction noise mitigation plans, performs on-site inspections of construction noise mitigation measures and provides mitigation recommendations when contractor's mitigation is deficient. In addition, PCA addresses community noise complaints and provides recommended site-specific mitigation measures for common noise-producing mechanical equipment.
